The success of fantasy films such as Twilight has led to a surge in the popularity of science fiction and fantasy novels among older children and teenagers, new research has found.
Sales of sci-fi and fantasy have grown by almost 20 per cent in the past five years with industry analysts identifying the ‘Twilight Effect’ as the main reason.
I saw this picture submitted to a facebook group and had to post it on here! I just love how good it is! I have tried to track down the person who created it but I’ve had no luck.

EA (electronic arts) have created a spoof version of the new moon trailer, using characters from ‘The Sims 3′.

Keeping in with all the comic book gossip we’ve had lately we’ve now heard that Robert Pattinson will be featured in his own comic book titled FAME: Robert Pattinson. The comic will be published by Bluewater Productions.
Millions know English actor Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, the vampire with a conscience in the films Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the fantasy/romance movies based on Stephenie Meyer’s famous book series.

Peter Facinelli AKA the lovely Dr Carlise Cullen talks to New York Magazine about the training for Eclipse in order to do those super scary fight scenes.
“Ever since Taylor Lautner miraculously went from total weakling to strapping, eight-abbed man-beast during the short break between the shooting of the first two Twilight movies, his male co-stars have been inspired to play catch-up. Last night we ran into Peter Facinelli, who plays Carlisle Cullen (Robert Pattinson’s dad) in the series, at an absurdly long-named event in Los Angeles (Calvin Klein Collection & L.A. Nomadic Division Event in Support of L.A. Arts Month and ALAC, in case you were wondering). “I’m really excited about Eclipse — we did a lot of training for that movie, like six weeks of fight training,” he told us. “It was funny because it became almost like an in-house competition and everyone was always in the gym or working out. Sometimes we’d work out like three times a day. One time, I was in my apartment and I was going down to do my workout, and the elevator doors opened and Kellan Lutz was [in there] doing push-ups. I was like, ‘Okay, Kellan, you win! You win the competition!’”
Now theres a competition I’d like to see!

OK so this is a bit of old news but I’m sure you all wont mind looking at these two lovely beefcakes!
So Kellan is rumored to be the next Conan the Barbarian and I must say I cant think of a better candidate for the role however I must say, Arnie is a hard act to follow.
Lets see what E Online found out when they interviewed Kellen.
Twilight star Kellan Lutz confirms he’s a lead contender to star in the new Conan the Barbarian.
“It’s something that I’ve been actively going after because I’d die to put the weight back on,” he told us at last night’s Division-E party at Lisa Kline in L.A. “I’m tired of playing young; I want to be the big guy that I was.”
Just how close is he to winning the role?
“I’ve been auditioning,” Kellan, 24, said. “They’re finalizing so they’re trying to figure out what happens next. I’ve been waiting for a while, doing screen tests. There are just so many cooks in the kitchen. If it happens, it happens…Regardless, it’s not gonna be the new Arnold Schwarzenegger type of movie, no one’s going to try and play that role. I think they’re going younger, a different type of story. I’m just excited, because the script is great.”
Stargate: Atlantis actor Jason Momoa is also up for the role, according to Deadline Hollywood. With shooting scheduled to start on March 15 in Bulgaria, producers and director Marcus Nispel should be making a decision any day now. No word on how that fits with Lutz’s calendar, because Summit still hasn’t officially given the go for the next Twilight flick (or flicks, if a fifth one is made, too)
Meanwhile, Lutz was coy when asked about rumors he’s the new Calvin Klein underwear model à la Marky Mark Mark Wahlberg.
“If I had the chance to do that, I would love to,” he said.
Does Mr. Lutz wear Calvins? “All the time,” he smiled. “Boxer briefs!”
So lets all keep our fingers crossed for the lovely Kellen. He certainly does an outstanding job bringing Emmett to life so Im sure he will be a excellent Conan.

Twilight: The Graphic Novel Volume 1 is soon to hit our stores. The book is released in March but has already hit the top ten best selling books list on Amazon.com.
As of yet Amazon.co.uk is not selling the book however is is available from Forbidden Planet for us in the UK.

Since being previewed (less than a week ago), Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1 has already gotten a great deal of interest from fans of the series.
The edition is set for release on March 16th, backed with 350,000 prepared copies, and, apparently, fans have been pre-ordering the book like crazy because it has already reached the top ten “Best-sellers in Books” list at Amazon, according to one source.
It rests at number seven at the moment with a reasonable nine dollar pricetag at Amazon.
The book’s popularity is bolstered by the fact that Twilight series author Stephenie Meyer has given a glowing stamp of approval to the work done on it by Young Kim, a graphic designer, by saying that it “it takes me back to the days when I was writing Twilight.”
The book was first announced as forthcoming back in July of 2009, when Entertainment Weekly pronounced that “Meyer herself is deeply immersed in the project, reviewing every panel.”
Entertainment Weekly has released two sneak peeks of the novel. The first, which came back in July with the original announcement, was of Bella and Edward in the biology classroom with a quotespace unmarked. The second, which came last week, was also of the two in biology, but it showed more of the dialogue and physical exchange going on between them. Namely, it revealed a portion of the first conversation that the two had as well as their first icy cold touch.
These images certainly couldn’t have hurt the amount of interest surrounding the book, as they only left us all very thirsting for more.
Go and have a look at the sneak peeks. They certainly are a good teaser to keep us going until the book is released!
