Stephenie Meyer talks about the Volturi Casting

So back a little while ago now several fans sites got the unique oppourtunity to talk to Stephenie about the world of Twilight. We’ve put up several of the snippets so heres another of SM talking about the choices for the main three Volturi.

Here is what she had to say about Michael Sheen, Jamie Campbell Bower and Christopher Heyerdahl.

You can see lots of the other parts of the interview on Twifans. They really are great :)

All I can say is, ‘Thank you Chris Weitz’.

ARO…………….

SM: We kicked around a lot of names with that. And Michael Sheen was Chris’ choice (Chris Weitz, director). “Frost/Nixon,” he’s a great actor, but I couldn’t see him as Aro.

Alison: Oh, Lucian! (the character he played in the “Underworld” movies)

SM: Well, I hadn’t seen the “Underworld” thing, and I was like, “I don’t know,” I kinda had a different mental image. I had this actor, that actor that I wanted. And he talked me into it. First day I saw him on set, I went up to Chris and I said “thank you so much. You were right, I was wrong. I will listen to you forever, because you were SOO right on that one.”

Nikki (LTT): When he delivered that line, it’s just like, “oooooh!!”

SM: It was a delight to watch him go in there. Every little take he did something different. He did slightly different things. Always, of course, lines were perfect. Never a mistake, but he would give something different for the director to pull from. And he’s so great, he’s a really interesting guy. So much fun to talk to.

Bekah (LTT): My husband, who thinks I’m crazy, when Michael Sheen was in…

SM: That’s one of the reasons I love that movie…I love watching him, where every time he comes on, I’m like, “Say something!”

CAIUS…………………..

SM: I hate that Jamie Campbell Bower didn’t get as many lines. He is chilling. He actually tried out for Demetri. And he was too scary for Demetri. We were watching it. There was another guy that — Demetri is supposed to be — Charlie (Bewley) was sort-of the in-between. Demetri was supposed to be smoother and calm people down. But then of course, maybe people don’t want to ever have somebody as the peace maker. They want all the tension. So Charlie was scary, but not as scary (laughs) as Jamie. Jamie was CHILL-LING. And that his face took the makeup like nobody else. He has no pores! His skin was perfect! He got in the makeup, and every line he delivered had so much weight. It was like “more, more please.” Caius needs a story. The whole thing with him and Michael Sheen was great. Well, Marcus too.

MARCUS………………….

SM: Chris (Christopher Heyerdahl) is just……….creepy. Creepy. He just did this thing where it sounded like he had 500 years of dust on him. That part of the movie…I was sitting there talking to him, and I didn’t know it was him. He’s bald. I’m used to him with the hair. So I’m sitting there talking to this tall, bald guy, thinking that he was somebody else. And when I realized it was the actor, I’m thinking really quickly back through everything — did he know that I didn’t know who he is? And then I told him…”I didn’t recognize you without the wig and the red eyes and all that…”

New Kristen Stewart stills on Hollywood Crush

Just in on Hollywood Crush are 3 exclusive stills of Kristen Stewart in ‘Welcome to the Rileys’.

I think this movie definitely does look gritty to say the least. I love that Kristen really chooses roles that she can get her teeth into, and that will pose a challenge for her.

Today, we got our hands on three pics from a movie we’ve been talking about forever (well, maybe more like nine months or so): Kristen Stewart’s gritty film “Welcome to the Rileys.” Kristen plays runaway teen prostitute Mallory, who’s taken in by James Gandolfini to help him ease the pain of his own daughter’s death.

In the above pic, Kristen is examining her bruised face after what we can only assume was some kind of fight/beating. Peeking in on her is Melissa Leo who plays James’ wife, Lois, in the film.

When we caught up with Kristen earlier this year to discuss the role, she said she had never “felt so personally involved in something” as she did with “Welcome to the Rileys,” adding that making the movie definitely changed her life. “I think I’m just a little bit more sensitive,” she said. “I’m so, if you looked at a girl wrong now, I would fly across the room and kill you.” Wow, watch out for KStew!

Nikki Reed talks about supporting her fellow cast mates

Nikki Reed talks to Teen Daily about supporting her fellow cast mates.

“We all root for each other,” Nikki said. Although the cast of Twilight is super busy with all of their individual projects, Nikki revealed that she is excited to see them again when they start filming the next movie Breaking Dawn.

Who is she most excited to see? “All of them,” she said. “I love Taylor [Lautner] so much, and I’m so proud of him and what he’s doing. He’s making a great movie in Pittsburgh right now,”

Nikki also chatted about Twilight’s other hunk, “I’m excited about Rob [Pattinson]‘s movie ‘Water for Elephants,’ “ she said. “I think he’s going to be phenomenal in that, and Kristen [Stewart] is doing an amazing film ['On the Road']. Elizabeth Reaser just did a movie called ‘Homework’ with Michael Angarano, who’s a really good friend of mine, and Emma Roberts that I’m excited about.”

Melissa Rosenberg talks about the Breaking Dawn Scrips

(I love this old picture of Melissa on the set of Twilight with Kristen and Rob)

Melissa Rosenberg has been talking to MTV about the Breaking Dawn scripts.

Its good to hear that shes working so hard on these scripts, and I can see why shes having trouble with the final battle scene. Alot of that scene in the book is built up internally in our characters and its alot of tension so it will be very interesting to see how Melissa and Bill go about that.

“They’re coming along,” Rosenberg said. “I just flew in last night from working with ['Dawn' director] Bill Condon, prepping the scripts. It’s a lot of work, I’m exhausted,” she added. Rosenberg also revealed that she’s between 75 and 80 percent finished with the two screenplays. “But we’re intent on making them the best scripts yet.”

Regarding the biggest challenge she faces in finishing “Dawn,” parts 1 and 2, Rosenberg said it’s the climactic “battle scene” — in which the two opposing vampire groups face off in dramatic fashion at the end of the book — that’s proving to be her biggest obstacle, rather than the infamous “birth scene”.

“The final battle sequence is a big challenge because it lasts 25 pages,” Rosenberg told us. “It’s almost an entire three-act story in and of itself. You have to track (kept all in one setting) hundreds of characters. It’s an enormous challenge to choreograph on the page and for Bill to choreograph on the stage.”

It looks like Rami already knows a member of the Twilight Saga cast as Twilight Lexicon have found a awesome clip of him and Jackson Rathbone in ‘The War at Home’.
